…makes Kelly excited for her paycheck 😉
It’s been a busy last few days so get ready for a big post of eats. I have been working quite a bit – it’s wedding season, prom season, and bar mitzvah season (? ha). I’ve been trying to take on as many shifts as possible to make a little dough but my job is so physically demanding – i’ve been sore for a week! Just out of curiosity I wore my Polar f4 to work the other day and in one shift I burned 1200 calories! And that was an easy night; I only worked 5 hours instead of 8!. ay-yi-yi! I guess it’s a good thing for a bit considering I ate nachos, french fries and ice cream everyday was not at optimal last semester. I’ll have to post a picture of me in my tuxedo and suspenders sometime soon.
Here’s a recap of some food. I haven’t been able to post dinner pictures because I usually eat “staff meal” at work and we’re not allowed to take pictures of the food since most of recipes are copyrighted. If you want to get a glimpse of some of the amazing culinary work the kitchen does…check it out. http://www.abigailkirsch.com/culinary/culinary-shots.htm
Vans gf waffle with pb and blackberries
Lil’ bit of joe with a small smoothie (1 cup almond breeze; frozen blueberries and strawberries)
Grapes for a snack
Brown rice pasta with feta cheese, tomatoes, evoo and basil
It was soo hot out that I went on an iced coffee run with momma
Med. ice coffee with skim milk
Grilled steak and veggies & fruit salad
(Perhaps a piece of dark chocolate on my break)
I woke up feeling stressed and I knew that I needed some mindless exercise so I went on the elliptical at the gym for an hour and watched Regis and Kelly
Oatmeal with pb and blackberries….finished all my blackberries 😦
Around one I met my grandmother (angel) for lunch at this new cafe in town called Sweetgrass. They serve organic locally grown food and…sweet potato fries!!!
I had a mixed greens salad with chicken, apricots, pine nuts and citrus vinigarette…It was a lot bigger than it looks; I only ate about 2/3
Ate about half of these bad boys…
More grapes for a snack before work at 4:30! yum.
Dinner: Small piece of chicken cacciatore with a scoop of taters and a fruit salad
Dessert: 5 oz of homemade fabulous hot cocoa
Thoughts: Have you ever reached a point in your life when you knew that you were “growing up?” I know that this summer is going to be such a period of transition. I’m working to grow more self-confident and excited about my future. I’ve spent the last twenty years of my life putting other people first and I’ve almost dug myself into a hole. I’m finally putting my needs and wants before others, just for a little bit, until I feel okay about where my life is going. I am so blessed to have such a wonder family and group of girlfriends in my life to help me through tough times. I will be entering into my final year of college legless. No, not literally…My two best friends at school – the people I hung out with, relied on, laughed with – will not be returning in the fall. My best girl friend, Sherrie, will be returning home to Colorado to go to nursing school and my best boy friend (and ex-boyfriend 😦 whole other story) has graduated and we are taking some time apart. I feel like the wind was swept out from underneath me. But I am strong and I’m going to be okay.
Fun history fact:According to the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, Shakespeare wrote about one-tenth of the most quotable quotations ever written or spoken in English. Way to go, Billy!
Hope you’re all having the same wonderful weather that we’re getting in New York. Off to go outlet shopping with mom!
